Exercise

Excercise

It matters not what you might think

To get up and sit and eat and drink

Is not the proper thing to do

And if so you do this act you’ll rue.

The walk you take from house to car

Is not by any measure far

And it will not my friend suffice

Your need to have some exercise.

So with all that you have come to know

Be up my friend and be on the go

And whether in the gym or in a park

Embrace the task and make your mark.

For the body and the mind

To keep in shape and be aligned

You need to put in quite a bit

Of exercise to keep it fit.

So now for most and everyday

Put in thirty minutes they say

And your body and your wit

Will be in tune all sharp and fit.

Now for a few self-help and tips;

Put your hands upon your hips,

Then fix your legs as though in a tether

And quickly apart and back together.

Still with hands upon the hip

Forward on the toes and tip;

Keep this stance and don’t resile

Keep it going for yet a while.

Head up, right then down it goes

With fingers reaching for the toes;

Don’t bend your legs or spread too wide

Maintain the right stance and divide.

For this one too, do get a knack

Lay down my friend upon your back;

Then raise your feet and point them up

And keep them swinging ‘til you get enough.

Still lying there upon your back,

Put your feet apart then in a lock

And keep them moving side to side

Far apart but not too wide.

A press-up or two is always great

To keep the muscles toned and in good shape,

So on a count from one to ten

Go down, then up and down again.

To get those bulging, glowing muscles

Bend down low and lift and buckle;

Then up and up with weight in hand

Then push o’er head while beneath it stand.

Obesity and its high price tag

Have moved the feet of many to jog

Around the track or on the road

Do take a jog to shed the load.

Some do prefer to take a run

At eventide when work is done

Or at the first light of daybreak

Shortly after being awake.

Forget not friend the swimmer’s quest

Upon the waters on back or chest

Those legs so active and hands too

Exercise the body through and through.

And all those rigorous cycling moves

The mind and body health improve

The benefits all will come to acknowledge

For such is common and well-known knowledge.

So now my child pick well your choice

Of whatever source of exercise,

For more than these the list goes on

So now with decent haste, choose one.
