Everlasting Love
I have seen great warriors fallen, shattered in battle and die
I have seen many friends parted and waved their final
goodbye
I have seen many truths spoken, corrupted and turned into lies
I have seen the beast of deception to once perfect doors drew nigh
I have seen the bold and the brave reduced to self-pity and cried
I have seen the true and the faithful murmured and questioned why
I have seen many great rivers in times of drought went dry
I have seen once flourishing acres in strictest desolation
lie
I have seen the fair and the young shriveled as the years went by
I have seen the calm and nonchalant bowed down in distresses and sighs
I have seen the great and the honoured dethroned and
vilified
I have seen the rich become paupers; lost all they owned and plied
I have seen through the eyes of faith something remaining though tried
And that is the everlasting love that we both personify.
