Deviance
Give not your life, my friend, to crime
For life is too divine
Do find some better things to do
A more lofty goal pursue.
Oh end the bloodshed in the schools
Obey and keep the rules
Preserve, my friend, your schoolmates life
And end the awful strife.
For crime is for the baser sorts
Not for men with human hearts
But beasts who human looks acquire
Whose instincts blood desire.
Sell not yourself my friend for naught
Your skills by evil bought
Why maim or leave a schoolmate dead
And not spread love and peace instead.
It will be better if you would
Obey the rules and practice good
For truth and goodness do exceed
The weight of every evil deed.
Just think of this my noble friend
Where would the chaos end?
And would the system not be flawed
If all men abhor the laws?
Be good my friend, choose otherwise
Make goodness now the prize
And set yourself the lofty goal
To acquire self-control.
Oh what a paradise life would be
If all could just agree
And when the times of conflict rise
We choose to compromise.
Do you not see what now I see
That love inspires glee
And those who would do help themselves
When their evil ways are shelved?
Virtue shall one day triumph
Over vice and all its junks
So why would you now squander time
In breaking rules and committing crimes.
Let none deceive you in this day
Or mislead you in the way
To pursue another’s ill or hurt
And take away his mirth.
What would it do for you my friend
If when you reach the end
You get from life a failing grade
For the troubles that you made?
Look at the vast array of fields
With such lustre and appeal
So why not in your space and time
Commit knowledge to your mind.
For in this life the wiser men
Seek knowledge as their friend
So seek it now while you’re at school
And don’t become a fool.
Oh let not history’s sacred page
This day record your rage
Instead, do this my noble friend
Do good until life ends.
Youth-man forsake the guns and knives
And redirect your drives
And all your other youthful rage
To pursue and gain great grades.
Give time a positive gift to keep
Not something base or cheap
A lifetime full of noble deeds
Is what your school and country need.
