Actions in South China Sea
South China Sea is now the new frontier of war
And bombs and missiles guided from afar
Are pointed at deterrent systems there
That are meant to retain a hegemony of the hemisphere.
China’s grown child and cousins are now a source of stress
For from the “One China” policy some now seek to regress
And the Mainland indignant of such move
Stand ready her errant relatives to reprove.
Where will this end? We do not know,
Except to say the family circle is a scene of anxious foes
And those who crave to have a say in the conflict of the hour
Must come face to face with the world’s latest super power.
And those who harbour now the dream,
To test the potency of the mainland’s politburo and regime
Must consider her determination to repel
The decision of her relatives who are seeking to rebel.
And those who doubt the mainland’s will to fight
Must now look towards the sea and see the gathering might
For the systems that are set up in South China Sea
Are meant to bring opponents to their knees.
Out there upon that eastern sea
The mainland shows just what would be
The end of those who interfere
With her and all the lands and sea she holds so dear.
With gallant will she mounted in the sea
A defence platform with as many trappings as can be
To secure, she says, her interest from the foes
Whose will to fight she appreciates and knows.
Look at China’s flagship vessel and her strut
With fire power eloping from her guts
And war planes landing on her elaborate deck
With missiles and all she needs to kill and wreck.
Beneath the heaving waters, there the politburo and regime
Have hidden in the open sea, sophisticated submarines
With all the stealth and power to deliver
Artilleries that could make a hardened soldier shiver.
But ah! Fierce powers are now refusing to sit down
And allow the Mainland to dominate the hemisphere alone
And it seems to me that whatever it takes
They too shall establish within that sea, a stake.
Navigational freedom is what the intellects call it
Those who at the claim to hegemony throw a fit
And there and then declare their own right and might
That contradicts the claim to hegemony that the Mainland cites.
And these fierce powers believe the mainland’s claim
Equates to theirs and is very much the same
And on the premise of that castigating note
Such fierce powers entered forbidden spots and move about.
Twelve nautical miles off Triton in the Paracel Chain
Was how close USS Curtis Wilbur went and caused a strain
With the mainland which did not pause or hesitate
To let the western power know she went too far beyond the gate.
And if such was not enough to cause a stir within the hemisphere
In defiance to the mainland they have vociferously declare
Their intentions to sail upon South China Sea again
Even though the mainland their brazen act continues to condemn.
The JS Izumo is on its way with intentions to reach South China Sea
And romp within the waters even if China disagrees
For they too with unfeigned bravery have come to challenge
What China says is clear and unpretentious knowledge.
South China Sea in this my time has grown
Into a potential disastrous and fearsome military zone
That one solemn forbidden and unwelcome day
Could become a battlefield of intense harrow and dismay.
So now the world must search for lasting peace
Before the first shot or missile is fired or released
For any day that sea begins to burn
It will be more catastrophic than anyone may discern.
